In 2010 BSP started the tradition of Oktoberfest in Port Moresby; 2011 is the 2nd edition of the annual event

Staff in traditional Oktoberfest outfits greeted guests at the door

The PNG Prime Minister Peter O'Neill attended the event, shown here with two happy guests

Neil with BSP's CFO

BSP CEO with the CFO

Neil with another bank executive; doing their best to looks like Benny & Bjorn of ABBA

Christmas in Adelaide

The Xmas crackers were tough to open

This is Rundle Mall - Adelaide's main shopping area - at 10:23am on Xmas Eve - no kidding

The Adelaide-Glenelg tram

Victory Church's Xmas service; Toby is the music director; it has a modern take on the church

What's at Glenelg you ask?

... and Rex ...

... and a bunch of intrepid folk like this

There's some discussion about whether Rex looks better before or after his haircut; you decide ...

before

after

BSP branches; have you ever wondered what it's like when the branch opens at 08:45 around Christmas in Port Moresby?

Waiting for the branch to open

Opening the gates requires nerves of steel ...

... quick, let's go; and the guard survived this time

Here are some uncommon views from Neil's office in Waigani, a suburb or Port Moresby

Looking east

Looking west

December is rainy season

Some Port Moresby buildings as seen from the harbor

Apt buildings overlooking the harbor

Office buildings, including BSP HO

This is reputed to be the PNG navy

Port Moresby's newest expensive hotel is the Grand Papua (US$400 per night at the introductory rate) and is just near Neil's apt; there's a dearth of accommodation (all levels) so room rates for all hotels are outrageous

September, just prior to opening

December, just after opening

December, just after opening

And finally ...

Trust me, there's a story behind this
